Community data should support the community
Our goal is to maintain a durable member relationship while using event platforms only where they add value.
Newsletter consent
Newsletter subscription will require explicit consent. Attending a single event will not automatically subscribe someone to unrelated future marketing.
Event registration
Some events may use Luma, Eventbrite, Meetup, Databricks Community or another registration service. Those services may process information under their own privacy terms in addition to the organizer’s use of registration data.
Community mailing list
The long-term community list is intended to be maintained separately from any one ticketing platform so members can receive future event and community updates after explicitly subscribing.
Unsubscribe
Community email will include a way to unsubscribe or update preferences once the mailing platform is activated.
