Code of Conduct
Michigan Data & AI Community is committed to professional, respectful and welcoming participation across in-person events, virtual sessions, online spaces and volunteer activities.
Our standard
Be respectful, constructive and professional. Make space for people with different levels of experience, backgrounds, perspectives and communication styles. Technical disagreement is welcome; personal attacks, intimidation and harassment are not.
Expected behavior
Participate in good faith, respect event staff and venue rules, keep discussions relevant, protect confidential or personal information, and ask before photographing or recording people in situations where consent is not already clear.
Unacceptable behavior
Harassment, discriminatory remarks, threats, stalking, repeated unwanted contact, sexualized behavior, deliberate disruption, doxxing, retaliation, or other conduct that makes participation unsafe or hostile is not acceptable.
Events and online spaces
This code applies to community-hosted meetups, Day of Data Detroit activities, virtual sessions, volunteer work, community email, social channels and other spaces explicitly operated by Michigan Data & AI Community.
Reporting a concern
If you experience or witness a problem, contact the community administrator through the Contact page. Reports will be reviewed as promptly and discreetly as practical. Event organizers may take steps including warnings, removal from an event or space, or limits on future participation.
Administration
Michigan Data & AI Community is founded, owned and administered by Mou Rakshit. Community operations, the MichiganDataAI.org website and event communications are managed independently of third-party registration platforms.
